    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

    1. Are you offering in-person services due to COVID-19?
    We are currently offering video sessions only, but we are excited to launch in person services September 8th, 2020. We have made many adjustments to our office to ensure it meets all government standards for resuming services. The chairs in our office are kept 2m apart and can be moved to offer further distancing. We have an air purifier, clear screen sneeze guard, PPE, disinfectant wipes, wipeable furniture, and gloves available. For those who would prefer continued social distancing, video therapy options will remain available.
    2. How do the COVID-19 Recovery Plans work?
    We developed the COVID-19 Recovery Plans to make our services more accessible to those in need and as a way to give back. Depending on your needs, you can choose from either Plan A or Plan B. Plan A offers a 50% discount off the regular session fee, however this discount will only cover the first 5 sessions and you must book these sessions within 3 months of starting. You will not be charged for sessions not booked in the 3 month time period, however you will lose access to this discount. Plan B offers a 40% discount off the regular session fee for a total of 10 sessions. You must book your 10 sessions within 6 months of your 1st session booking to retain the discounted rate on these sessions. Again, missed sessions in the 6-month window will not result in additional charges. You will just lose access to our discounted rate after the 6 month time period.
    3. What are the fees for your services?
    Our regular fees are aligned with the recommended rates set fourth by the Psychological Association of Alberta. A 50 min session is $200. A double session is recommended if/when you start EMDR processing with your psychologist. Double sessions are charged at the rate of $390. Group therapy sessions are $60. Group therapy will be offered at various times throughout the year based on interest.     4. What insurance plans do you accept?
    We can direct-bill many of the bigger insurance plans such as Blue Cross, Manulife, or Sunlife. If your insurance company does not allow for direct billing, we can provide you with a receipt so that you can submit it for coverage. Please be sure to consult your specific insurance plan to determine how much coverage you are entitled to. We would be happy to trouble shoot some of your questions to the best of our abilities.     5. How do I book an appointment?
    For your convenience, we have an online platform to book your appointments powered by Owl Practice. Please contact us if you need support in setting up your booking account.
    6. What can I expect during a free consultation?
    A free consultation can be offered to you for 20 mins either live or via telephone/video. During your consultation you can ask questions about anything from booking to services offered to therapeutic modalities offered. You can also ask about our experience and training. If in person, we would be happy to let you tour our office. Please reach out via phone or email to arrange a free consult.
    7. Where are you located?
    We are located on 17th Ave SW Calgary. Our address is 909 17th Ave SW. We have an office on the 4th floor, which is owned by Regus (turn right when you get out of the elevator on the 4th floor). You can check-in at the Regus front desk, and we will be notified of your arrival to greet you in the lobby.
    8. Is parking free?
    There are a variety of options available for parking (at a cost) and there are some options for free parking.
     

    • The most convenient lot is located underground of our building and currently it costs $3.15 for the hour. https://ca.parkindigo.com/en/car-park/lot-250-hanson-square

    • There is 2hr street parking along 17th Ave SW which becomes free after 6pm.

    • Free Parking – There are some free parking spaces that are first come first serve and not affiliated with our building or facility. This free parking is located along 9th St, 9a St, 10th St, 10a St and Cameron Avenue. All street parking along 17th Ave SW is free after 6pm.
    9. Do you have a cancellation policy?
    Yes. We require 48 hours notice for cancellation of any of our services. Most of our services (individual sessions, EMDR treatments, group sessions) can be accessed via video platform if you are pressed for time. We can switch your appointment from live to video if provided with an hour notice prior to your appointment. Cancellations with 48 hours notice will not cost you anything. If you cancel your session with less than 48 hours notice you will be charged at the full rate and unfortunately, insurance providers do not allow you to submit a claim for a missed appointment.
